Covid-19 updates from the Superintendent

Dear AP Staff & Families,

In effort to provide accurate information to our staff and families in regard to returning to in-person learning, Allen Park Public Schools continues to monitor the COVID Act Now Data for a 7-day rolling average of a positivity rate of less than 7.5% for 7 consecutive days.

The school community may monitor this data collection by visiting https://tinyurl.com/y4r8kkyk

In addition, the Board of Education also noted that regardless of the data trend, in-person learning in Allen Park Public Schools will not resume prior to February 1, 2021 in order to provide teachers with adequate time to prepare, and allow families to begin transition plans.

The COVID Act Now Data does lag a couple days behind; however, as of this writing, we have 4 consecutive days logged with a rolling average of less than 7.5% positivity rate.  We are hopeful that this trend will continue, and allow us to resume in-person learning on February 1, 2021. (The district site will continue to be updated as soon as COVID Act Now updates data)

The district will provide staff and families with another update on January 28, 2021.  The district has pledged to provide staff and families with advance notification of two business days prior to returning to in-person learning.

Please disregard rumors from other sources and feel free to call or email Central Office or building administration if you have additional questions.
