Driver Education Executive Order 2020-110

Pursuant to Executive Order 2020-110, Driver Education Segment I & 2 classes can resume. As a result, The Allen Park Driver Education Department will be offering a Segment 1 Course to begin June 13th and end June 26th. The cost will be reduced to $350.

Driver Education sign-up information has been sent to every parent through a district email blast. Segment 1 will run from June 13 to 26th segment 2 will run from June 22-24.

Allen Park Driver Education is open to anyone (even those outside the district). Your child must be 14 years 8 months old by June 13th in order to be eligible for segment 1

Although there have been two confirmed cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus in Michigan and the current risk is still determined by experts to be low, we recognize the seriousness of this situation. We will be closely monitoring these unprecedented circumstances, and continue to work in cooperation with the experts at Wayne County RESA, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the Michigan Department of Education, and the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Text Message Scam - APPS will not solicit anyone to purchase anything on behalf of the schools

This morning, a Text Message Scam was launched. People posing as "District Leaders" are sending out text messages to people asking them to purchase AMAZON Gift Cards. They make it sound like it's legit, letting the person know they will be reimbursed through the school. They give instructions that after you purchase the cards, they are to "scratch off the code" on the back, "take a photo" and text the photo back to them.

Please know this is a SCAM. A District Leader, Administrator, or anyone associated with Allen Park Public Schools would never solicit any employee, friend, etc. to purchase anything on behalf of the schools and promise reimbursement.

Memorial Day Food Distribution

APPS will not be passing out meals on Memorial Day, May 25, 2020. On Wednesday, May 20th, we are handing out 5 day meal kits and half gallons of milk. We will resume our regular food distribution on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. Then back to our regular schedule of Monday and Wednesday, 9:00-11:00 am on June 1, 3, 8, and the 10th will be our final day for the school year. Thank you!
